Are any ingredients harmful
or toxic?
No. KDF is commonly used in
drinking water and water treatment systems. The virgin crystalline
quartz is washed and sun-cured. Our polyester material is water
industry approved and used in drinking water filters.
How much chlorine will the filter remove?
The CQ-1000 will typically remove more than
90% of the free chlorine. Reduction levels of 95% or above are not
uncommon, but no chlorine reduction shower filter can remove consistently
at 95% because of temperature and water flow variations.
What
is the filtering media?
KDF 55, crystalline quartz and special
polyester sediment trapping material (Poly-flow).

How does KDF work in
removing chlorine?
As chlorinated water flows through the unit
the dissimilar metals in KDF, (copper and zinc), create a galvanic or
electrolytic reaction, which causes the two chlorine ions to combine with
a zinc ion to form a harmless chloride. KDF does not hold the
chlorine; it changes chlorine from an element into a harmless compound.

How does the Crystal Bath
Ball work?
When water comes in contact
with the media filament inside the fabric pouch, the chlorine ions in the
water are converted into a harmless chloride. The toxic effects of
chlorine, chloriamines and chlorine gas are eliminated with the aid of a
special media. Chlorine is removed quickly when the Crystal Ball is
circulated through the bath water. The crystalline quartz mixed with
the media reduces the molecular structure of water into smaller clusters
enhancing lathering of soap.
How is it used?
The Crystal Ball for the Bath dechlorinates
the water by placing it in the tub and pulling it through the water with
the attached 12-inch cord for a few minutes. Important: when
using bubble bath, oils, epson salts, etc. be sure to add them AFTER
dechlorination is complete. The 12-inch cord is also used to hang
the ball on a hook or fixture to dry between uses. Please remove it
from the bathtub before using the tub to avoid the possibility of stepping
on the plastic ball. If you add more water to the tube while bathing
you may swirl the Crystal Ball through the water for another minute or so
to remove any new chlorine. |

recycling. The plastic housing and all the media can be
reused by a variety of industries. We'd much prefer our
products get a second life, then end up in a landfill. The

How do you address water
quality?
The cleaner your water the longer and more
efficient the filter will be. If heavy levels
of sediment and particulate matter are present in the water the KDF media
can become clogged making it more difficult to create the electrolytic
reaction required for dechlorination. Some sediment and turbidity
will inevitably enter the filter, however the filter is specially designed
to minimize the effects with its exclusive sediment trapping screen
located in the inlet and the Poly-flow
materials, both trap large particulate matters as it enter the filter.

 Can
I use the filters with color treated hair?
Absolutely! In
fact you will be amazed at how soft, shiny and hydrated your
hair will be. Your color will last much longer than ever before
because the chlorine is not stripping it away! |
I have well water, do I need a shower filter?
No. Well
water does not contain chlorine naturally. Our filters were designed
specifically to remove chlorine only.

How
do I know when the filter cartridges need replaced?
That is an
excellent question that is hard to answer. Most of my customers can "just
tell." Here are some things you may notice as an indicator it
is time to replace the cartridge:
- the
water may feel "harder"
-
sensitive sniffers may actually notice the chlorine smell has
returned
- you
may start to see mold and mildew return around the tub and tiles
- your
skin and hair will be noticeably drier/coarser
To be sure you
are continuously treating your skin to the water it deserves, change
cartridge every 6 months. |
Won't bacteria collect in the shower head without the
chlorine?
One of
the things I found most interesting about the filters when I first
discovered them was that they actually PREVENT mold and mildew.
The
copper in the filter medium actually acts as a n atural
fungicide to destroy mold and mildew. You may actually be
able to cut down on the chore of cleaning the
shower as frequently, or at least be able to cut down or eliminate
any harsh solvents you previously used to battle it. Hooray for
that!
Can I drink the water?
No. The filters were designed for bathing only.
